MINOXIDIL TOPICAL (ROGAINE) HOW MEDICINE IS ADMINISTERED? TOP Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, unless instructed differently by your doctor * Dry hair and scalp before application. If using finger tips to facilitate drug application, wash hands afterwards. WARNINGS/PRECAUTIONS: TOP * Safety of use during pregnancy has not been established. This medicine SHOULD NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY unless benefit justifies potential risk to the fetus. CALL YOUR DOCTOR. * For EXTERNAL use only. Do not apply to the face and avoid contacting eyes, nose, mouth or open cuts. * It will take more than 4 months to see evidence of hair growth. New hair may be soft, colorless and barely visible. * After further treatment, the new hair should be the same color and thickness as the normal hair. * If treatment is stopped, you will probably lose the new hair within few months. * Do not use along with other topical medications on the scalp. * Do not apply to irritated or sunburned scalp. Stop taking this medicine and notify your doctor AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience: Visual disturbances; Chest pain. Other Common Side Effects: TOP Vomiting; Skin inflammation; Diarrhea; Dry skin; Dizziness; Swelling of feet or lower legs; Headache; Lightheadedness; Decreased sexual ability; Anemia; Anxiety; Depression; Unusual tiredness or weakness; Menstrual irregularities; Abnormally low platelet count; Inflammation of the sinuses; Baldness; Bronchitis; Generalized pain; Itching; Nausea; Respiratory infection.
