    SULFACETAMIDE SOD. OPHTH. (SULAMYD)

    HOW MEDICINE IS ADMINISTERED? TOP
    Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, unless instructed differently by your doctor
    * WASH hands prior to administration.
    * Tilt head back, pull the lower eyelid down and away from the eyeball to form a pocket. Look up and place medication in pocket.
    * Continue to hold the eyelid for a moment to allow the medication to run in the eye. Close eyes for 1-2 minutes.
    * While the eyes are closed, apply gentle pressure to the inside corner of your eye. If you have recently had eye surgery, skip this step.
    * To help clear up your infection completely, FINISH COURSE OF THERAPY, even if your condition has improved.
    WARNINGS/PRECAUTIONS: TOP
    * STOP TAKING MEDICINE & GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF A HYPERSENSITIVITY OR ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION occurs: (see symptoms below):-
    * shortness of breath, fast or irregular breathing, fever, joint pain, fast pulse, lightheadedness or fainting, swelling of face, hives, & itching.
    * Notify doctor if stinging, burning, itching, redness, irritation, swelling, decreasing vision or pain persists or worsens.
    * Do not wear contact lenses unless instructed by your doctor.
    * If your doctor considers contact lens use to be appropriate, wait at least 15 minutes after using this medication before inserting lenses.
    ADVERSE REACTIONS: Stop taking this medicine and get emergency help IMMEDIATELY if you experience:
    Shortness of breath, fast or irregular breathing, fever, joint pain, fast pulse, lightheadedness or fainting, swelling of face, hives, & itching; Severe skin reactions.
    Other Common Side Effects: TOP
    Eye itching; Eye burning; Eye irritation; Blurred vision; Eye inflammation; Increased sensitivity to sunlight; Skin rash; Headache; Supression of blood cell production; Stomach or intestinal irritation.
    Other Common Side Effects:
    If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome, check with your doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE, CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
