    WELCHOL

    COLESEVELAM ORAL (WELCHOL)

    BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE: Tell your doctor if you are having any of the following conditions: TOP
    THYROID problem; DIABETES.
    * Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical problems; pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
    * Check with your Doctor, Pharmacists, or Nurse if information in this leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information about your medicine and its use.
    HOW MEDICINE IS ADMINISTERED? TOP
    Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, unless instructed differently by your doctor
    * Take with liquids during meals.
    * A reduced-calorie DIET and increased physical activity are usually part of the treatment regimen. Follow prescribed diet and exercise programs.
    * This medicine may INTERFERE WITH ABSORPTION of concomitant drugs. Take other drugs 1 hour before or 4-6 hours after this medicine.
    * Your doctor should check your progress at REGULAR VISITS to make sure this medicine is working properly and to check for unwanted effects.
    WARNINGS/PRECAUTIONS: TOP
    * There are no adequate or well-controlled safety studies in pregnant women. NOTIFY YOUR DOCTOR IF PREGNANT or intend to become pregnant.
    * This medicine may INTERFERE with the absorption of fat-soluble VITAMINS (A, D, E, K, and folic acid). Consider supplementation with long-term use.
    * This medicine may produce or severely worsen preexisting CONSTIPATION. A laxative, stool softener or increased fluid and fiber intake may be helpful.
    * SPECIAL POPULATIONS:
    * Pediatric: The safety or efficacy of this medicine in pediatric patients below 18 years of age has not been established.
    * GERIATRIC: No dose adjustment is needed based on age.
    ADVERSE REACTIONS: Stop taking this medicine and get emergency help IMMEDIATELY if you experience:
    Stomach or intestinal bleeding.
    Stop taking this medicine and notify your doctor AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience:
    Constipation; Unusual bleeding.
    Other Common Side Effects: TOP
    Vomiting; Stomach discomfort or pain; Bloating; Gas; Indigestion; Nausea; Skin rash; Headache; Muscle pain; Decreased appetite; Prolonged prothrombin time.
    Other Common Side Effects:
    If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome, check with your doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE, CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
    Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.
    Taking this medication may cause the following mineral depletion: TOP
    VITAMIN D; VITAMIN K; VITAMIN E; VITAMIN A; FOLIC ACID.
